A 12.5° ski-ramp on the bow
The RN’s two new Queen Elizabeth-
class aircraft carriers feature
a 12.5° ski-ramp on the bow,
which serves to simultaneously
launch aircraft upward and
forward, allowing the short
takeoff vertical landing (STOVL)
F-35B to improve its payload
radius.
