MRR-quicker to raise, and easier to swing
Overall the result (MRR) is to reduce
the weight of the rifle by around
0.75 pounds. With the weight
reduction being mostly made at
the front of the rifle, the effect is to
make it quicker to raise, and easier
to swing – enhancing response
times in combat situations.
Four barrel lengths are offered
for the 5.56mm MRR: 11.6, 14.5,
15.7 and 18in. The 18in version
is also offered in a non-chromed
version for DMR (designated
marksman rifle) employment.
